Versatility with built-in USB interface

Cyberflex e-gate incorporates the USB interface electronics normally found in a smart card reader on the card itself, enabling it to plug directly into the USB port on a computer via a simple connector. It reduces the time and investment cost of buying, deploying and installing smart card readers.

Cyberflex e-gate works like any other USB peripheral - offering all the ease and convenience of self-powered hot-pluggable, plug & play operations and exploiting the communications speed of USB (up to 1.5 Mb/s). Its ISO compatibility enables Cyberflex e-gate to run multiple applications in addition to high level security such as secure log-on, user and network authentication, public key encryption for secure transactions, digital signatures and certificate and key storage.

Axalto e-gate smart card technology is designed to provide a major boost to the fast growing market for securing network access via portable tokens. Capable of working with any smart card operating system - including Java and Windows - the e-gate technology uses a special chip which integrates the USB interface electronics to enable it to connect directly.

The Cyberflex e-gate card can be used as a traditional ISO card, or can be placed directly into a USB plug with a a simple connector. The chip in the device automatically detects whether it is an ISO or a USB environment.
