How do I get started with DreamBox?

1. Download and install the latest version of the DreamBox Service Software (DBSS)
2. Connect DreamBox and install drivers (they are in DBSS folder)
3. Run DBSS
4. Choose DreamBox->Update Firmware in the main menu (You will need stable internet connection)

How do I know my firmware version or serial number?

1. Install DBSS
2. Connect DreamBox to the PC
3. Select Hardware->DreamBox->Read Box Info from main menu.

Do I have to configure my USB ports for DreamBox usage?

No. You only need to install the drivers.

How do I activate or update my DreamBox?

Visit our website and choose DreamBox Firmware Update from the Downloads section.

What do I do in case of box update problems?

Power indicator blinks red. What does it mean?

It means that some action wasn't finished successfully (see Troubleshooting).

Can I use my DreamBox as a standalone device, or it has to be used with PC only?

You can use DreamBox only with PC.

Which software supports DreamBox interface and where to download it?

DreamBox Service Software (DBSS). You can download it from the DreamBox website.

What flash file formats are supported by DreamBox and where can I find them?

Our software (DBSS) supports binary format (bin), Siemens format (WinSwup tools & Update tools (*.exe)) and our .dtf format. Saving is possible in .dtf format though.

Does DreamBox Update require any specific web browser?

Yes. You should be using Microsoft IE 5.0 or higher with ActiveX controls enabled.
